Incoming Students - Procedure

Application Procedure
STEP 1 – CHECK FOR BILATERAL AGREEMENT

Check that your Institute has a Bilateral Agreement with ATEITH. If you do not find your institution in ATEITH's list while ATEITH is at your home institution's list, contact your home Departmental Erasmus Coordinator or your home International Office in order to resolve the matter. A bilateral agreement between your home institution and ATEITH is mandatory in order to become an incoming Erasmus student to ATEITH.

STEP 2 - NOMINATION BY YOUR HOME INSTITUTE

Your institute has to provide us with the Nomination of Incoming Erasmus students selected to study at ATEI of Thessaloniki, together with students' email addresses. Since this official list is essential for acceptance, ask the International Office of your institute if they have done so. Without the nomination you will be not accepted as an ERASMUS student at ATEITH.

Nomination/Application Deadlines
The deadlines for students' nomination and applications are as follows:
  1. June 30 for admission in the winter semester.
  2. November 30 for admission in the spring semester.

STEP 3 – COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM

After your nomination by your home institute, we will contact you by e-mail with the link to the Student Application Form which you can find in the tab "Important Documents" of the current page. You should complete it carefully and fill in all the required data.

A copy of your personal Identification Card or Passport is also necessary.

STEP 4 – SELECT COURSES & COMPLETE THE LEARNING AGREEMENT

Departmental Erasmus Coordinators are the persons responsible academically for the mobility programs. Consult the Course Catalogue of ATEITH and your home Departmental Erasmus Coordinator in order to ensure your course choices. For any further help or clarifications you can contact ATEITH's Departmental Erasmus Coordinators. When ready complete carefully the Learning Agreement which you can find in the tab "Important Documents" of the current page.

STEP 5 – SEND THE COMPLETED DOCUMENTS

Send the Student Application Form, the Learning Agreement together with your Institution's Transcript of Records (in English) and your passport/ID card to the International Relations Office of ATEITH either by email or regular mail. Take careful care to have them properly signed and stamped and to comply with the application deadlines which are:

  1. July 15 for admission in the winter semester.
  2. December 15 for admission in the spring semester.

As soon as the International Relations Office of ATEITH receives your documents and you are admitted as an Erasmus incoming student you will receive an Acceptance/Confirmation Letter, either by email or regular mail (only if required by your host institution).

DO NOT FORGET

Before travelling to Greece be sure that you:

  • Have made all the arrangements regarding your VISA (if required) and have your passport with you
  • Have arranged all the health insurance matters, e.g. European Health Card (for EU-members), with your host institution so that to be covered for the entire exchange period.
  • Have arranged your accommodation.

While in ATEITH
UPON YOUR ARRIVAL

If you are an Erasmus student, you should enroll within 5 days of arriving: to do this, visit the International Relations Office (open Monday to Friday 9 am – 3 pm) holding your ID-card or Passport.

The office will issue the Student Card and a document certifying your registration. Then meet ATEITH's Departmental Erasmus Coordinator to arrange the details of your courses. Keep in mind that any changes to the original Learning Agreement must be finalized in the first 20 days of your exchange period.

WHILE IN YOUR EXCHANGE PERIOD

As an Erasmus exhcange student you have rights and responsibilities that you need to know and understand. For any help regarding academic matters do not hesitate to contact the Departmental Erasmus Coordinators or the Erasmus Mentors of ATEITH. They will all be there for you to stand by your side whenever necessary.

Moreover, all incoming students take advantage of the ESN ATEI Thessaloniki, who support and assist the students by meeting them at the airport, helping them to find accommodation and explaining everyday cultural challenges they might meet.

Before your departure

Before leaving for your home Institution you should meet your ATEITH Departmental Erasmus Coordinator, inform him about your academic progress and ask him for a Transcript of Records (ToR) for your exchange period. The ToR might not be possible to be ready and handed to you before your departure. There is no need to worry about this. It will reach your institution properly aigned and stamped in a short period (normally within one month at most).

Finally, go to the International Relations Office and arrange any last details before your departure, e.g. any documents to take with you, like your final Learning Agreement, or Certificate of Departure, etc. Any papers forgotten by the Erasmus students can be sent to the host Institutions afterwards through e-mail or by post.

During your last days of stay be sure that you will fill in the Erasmus Evaluation Quastionnaire for your Erasmus period. You can find them in the tab "Important Documents" of the current page. These are required by ATEITH in order to help us improve our services to future Erasmus incoming students.
